Hope you know Holi is one of the biggest festivals celebrated across the country India even more let me correct myself, its a festival celebrated by all Indian’s around the world. We have already shared why do we celebrate holi in our last article. Holi is the festival of colors or the festival of colours. We Indian’s celebrate this festival with love. Holi festival is celebrated for two days. The first day is known as “Jalane wali Holi” – the day when Holi bonfire is done. This day is also known as “Chhoti Holi” and “Holika Dahan“.The second day is known as “Rangwali Holi” or festival of colours. Rangwali Holi which is main “Holi” day is also known as Dhulandi or Dhulendi.Holi is also associated with the Puranic story of Holika, the sister of demon-king Hiranyakashipu, which we have told in our last article History of Holi.

Holi festival of Colors
As I said earlier Holi is also known as Festival of Colors. Why? Because Holi is celebrated using Holi Colors. Holi colours are special soft and naturally created colours for holi festival thats why we called them Holi Colors. There are different kind of Holi Colors. We Indian’s called Holi Colors “Gulal” or you can say Holi Colors are also known as “Gulal”. So we do celebrate colorful holi with special holi colors like Gulal. Since last few years lots of people do use different kind of chemically created Holi colors. But it is not good as tradition Holi colors. It may create skin issues later.
